unfortunately this is always a depressing topic. u will always wonder 'are we the last of our generation in this sport?(or in the country at least)' and the truth is, MAYBE. the younger generation has different interests nowadays. but just remember it takes just a few who stand out and have a different view on things that can change all of that. its not up to us to go out looking for new skaters, but it is our duty to welcome them into our sport. im proud to say that malaysian rollerbladers have done their best. big ups to yeng and keats and bala for taking me in. on a final note, let life take its course. and dont stop rolling.

fraser is right.....
on another matter, ther are new kids out there that are starting. the trick is make them feel welcomed when they come and skate. strike small conversation..... when you pull a fuck face even when you dont mean it, they feel belittled and it just does no good at all....

The thing is we in-line skaters started off as a minority so we obviously have to wait for the sport to progress by itself. There are new skaters but not expose yet. I know this thru my own experience because i would skate around my area and discover new in-liners! THe sport is abit expensive but fuck it! if u like ROLLING, money aint a problem. Most skateboarders are trend skaters so having loads of them, does not mean that all of them are true skaters.

look at it this way. slow times like now - where rollers seem to be droppin off like flies is a good thing.
think of it as a weeding process - gettin rid of the people who really shouldnt have been in it in the first place.
the price factor discourages wannabes from stumbling into the sport. if you are gonna plonk rm 1000 on something. you gotta make sure u really in it. but unfortunately - that isnt always the case - instead, we get brats with way too much money and the latest dom sagona UFS thrones, with fiziks and reigns but without a clue on soul grinding a 3 inch curb.

have u met the guys from Kulim (Haris's boys).... they have really no financial support.... and they are still skating.... look at this senario, it was back in the Fatty days when this dude had a broken cuff. he replaced it with a plastic PVC pipe that was 6 inches diameter cut into helf.....
it's not about money, it's a bout how u work around your problem...... if you really dont have money but really want to skate, then you should not complain cause all of us didnt back when we started. just keep heading forward.
keep that head up!!!!

yeah - i remember that guy..
man...now thats what i call determination, creativity and a hint of kiamsiapness (haha..jokin)
oh the other thing harr...oops i mean Iman...haha doesnt matter if theres 20 boarders to 1 blader. 15 of those boarders wont b skating anyway. as for the remainding 5 - the moment a person who knows what their doing - a person who actaulyl know how to grind - more often than not a 8 wheeled - they quietly sit down.
but - these happy days are coming to an end though - them boarders sure are gettin better i must admit. quite fun to watch - but regardless - theres still too many poyos.

that pvc cuff story is cool, but lets be serious. u say that if they love the sport enough they will be willing to spend the money? how do u know if u love the sport if u cant afford a pair of skates in the first place? (not many people will have a skater friend to try their skates). the prices of boards are alot cheaper because for one they are all mass produced (saaame design for em all. one kayu onli) but skates use many diff designs and many different parts that ALL have to be molded. U cant expect someone to go our and buy a pair of carrefour skates and modify them so that there is a groove and everything. for those without money i guess u just gotta rely on second hand to get u thru till u can save enuff. our shit is expensive but i would rather them be a lil more expensive and have them made properly to benefit us (good shock absorbers, better ankle support and skates that dont crack so easy).

we are decreasing, sean and jamie have left to portugal for good, along with their youngest brother tom, so thats a whole family of young skaters gone. but who cares. all i know is that when i was younger... well... youngerer, i used to hear the stories about the 'kj rollers' from richie and jiggy and i wanted so bad to skate in kj. and when i finally did skate with you guys, when you came down to ballz that day, it was heavy, like i had a group of guys i could really look up to. And im hella grateful to bala, sukeats, naz and yeng especially for helping me out and taking me under their wings in a way. even though bala did steel my shoch absorbers. so basically, malaysian rolling doesnt need to attract any younger rollerbladers they just need to make sure that when a little kid does decide to skate, they want to continue because they have people to look up too and be encouraged by in their own backyard.
