how on earth is shit like this fair? u tell me WHY would they ban the movie? u think they are scared about losing people to a different religion? i think everyone should have a choice to their own religion no matter what it be. they should take their heads out of their asses and get on with their meaningless lives and leave everyone elses alone. sorry if i offend anyone but this people really tick me off.

well. i understand why they banned it - but i dont condone it.
but its sure as hell makes more sense than banning daredevil and the ICT shows.
but makes our country look like some taliban shithole though.
fraser - its got to do with the fact that muslims take their faith seriously. though the argument is - bruce almighty isnt about their faith...so it gets a bit muddy there.. but hell..... thats what VCDs are for. just to make stupid bureaucratic gaffes like that utterly pointless and redundant.

christians take their religion seriously too. but they dont get all fuckin anal when a comedy is made about a DIFFERENT religion. it has nothing to do with them. they are all so stuck on 'their is only our god. any belief in another god is wrong'. Why cant they see that they might be wrong. if ur god exists, why cant someone elses? be happy in your own beliefs and leave others alone. i am an aetheist but i dont condemn people for having their own beliefs. i think whatever makes people happy.... go for it. but telling someone that 'our beliefs are right and yours a wrong', and taking it out on something that is a COMEDY of all things is selfish.why?  |

the irony is, you guys are working yourself up into a fit about 'bruce almighty' but when that same government slaps the main opposition in jail on charges of 'sodomy' (homosexuality, is legal in every other non-muslim country in the world) you got nothing to say.

well - - i do agree sodomy and sexual rights is important - if not more than a silly movie.
but its not about jim carrey and his movie - its the idea behind it - that one guy can say no to what i can or can't do. in other words g - its the same argument you're making.
same house - just different windows.
your point about homosexuality being legal. not quite true - perhaps in europe - but not for the rest of the world.
singapore's (yeah i know - bad example..but hey) christian groups wanna stop gays from entering the government sector. ask the pope what he thinks bout that.
sexual prejudice is everywhere - its just unfortunate that in malaysia homosexuality is a punishable offence.
ALSO... i suspect the reason why we dont have a thread titled "Bumming - why cant i do it in the open" is because it is not a topic that we really care that much about - - well...im not sure bout Mr. Nazrul (Bon Jovi). but the rest would rather talk bout movies than buttfucking.
at the end of the day - the whole anwar debacle has more to do with politics (another can of worms) than homosexual rights - which was just used as an excuse to chuck his ass into prison... but lets not even get started on malaysian politics...

the reason they banned daredevil was because they were scared that the blind people that watch the movie would try and be a daredevil also... *to avoid misunderstanding, this was a joke  |
