The topic of discussion is actually "How do we bring back the whole rollerblading scene?", "How can we increase the number of Rollerbladers in our country?", "What sort of marketing or strategies can we apply to make it happen?" "Can we do it?"

Man we're all getting to the stage where even if there was a shit load of diff skaters, we'd only skate with close friends. So in my opinion it doesnt matter, its time for the next gen to worry about recruiting, while their skills are still lower so they can learn together. We just worry about hooking up with travelling skaters or skaters from other countries when we go visit, like singapore or sarawak or thailand (if we ever go north).

Well it is sad to see that this is the only way we can actually get the whole sports going again.

How about getting Skateline to throw a huge event coupled with an AGGRO skate clinic and contest
That would be one way

skating starts with yourself man, the best way to promote the sport is to skate all you can and have fun.

Yup skating yourself is cool and all.... but hey, the real question is how do we get new people to come into the sports.. we fail to do that from time to time resulting in the reducing numbers of rollerbladers here.

I concur with George and I think Kjrollers have done all there is to be done and more, the rest depend on the new skaters whether they are interested to take up the challenges.
And how do you know there are no new rollers?
They just not visible at the moment.
It's just in the US some nutheads think its slowed down but the focus is now on Asia.
The blade giants are targeting Asia.
They must have some good reasons!!

1 thing for sure... look at the income levels between the east and the west
it is a niche market

Hmm...........it would be unfair to compare in those terms
Who knows one day in the not distance future the genius Sukeats might even think of the Blanks Skates and sold as low as the Blanks wheels
What would you say then??

Well then the older guys now will be even other later....
Lets not go too far.... so what if we have blank skates... how many can we sell? who many will buy? it all comes down to the number of people who are skating and the ones who wants to skate...
back to basics.... the number of consumers

I'm just waiting for soemone to set up a proper asian skating clothing company, like for asian rollers by asian rollers. That would be so hot. And it would sell really well. Kind of like a ucon for the east.
