Was cleaning up my room when i found a box of old skating pics. oh the tricks, the fashion, the humiliation!, the injury-free-lessness, the fearlessness, the 3/4 pants, wheelbarrow grinds....
I present to you, the grommet days of the kj rollers....
The first few who started skatin in KJ. frm clockwise from top left - willie, ami, naz, sukeats, rizman, azmir, weiyeng.
zaman muda. note the matching hairstlyes..ahaha
Lapuk Tricks
tabernacle
christ torque
cross acid - notice how fitting bala's shirt was then. he wouldn't b caught dead wearing anything smaller than XL nowadays.. check out the skinny fit pants too.
torque roll
uniroll aka espanola aka saturday night... *sigh* trick names were so much more fluffier then. (purple shirt with khakis? what the fuck was i thinkin?)
acid rain
cross grab torque
Skatespots of the past
Taman Tun IBM towers, the benches underneath the towersm the meeting place of the Taman tun skaters...most of which have retired. that place stank of fish, piss and shit, and usually you'll find all three on the grounds around the bench. think its demolished now. those were super waxy benches though.
(Again...what the fuck was i thinking - full pads, with visor for style.....oh god...)
SS3 hump. The spot still exists...guess we should pay homage one of these days...
Of all things...they put a stage in the middle of the street. and on it...a really cun rail. but fuck...fall off the stage....and its at least 4 feet off. if i recall....edosh or someone frm subang fell off the stage- hurt his ankle.
The 'C'. Its still around, but theres a fence erected round it now. but heck. think we should break right in an skate it anyway. the curb was sweet.
sanjit - on super old skool oxygen argons.
The little box we built, together with the rail welded by rizman, which we carried all the way frm his home, on skates mind you...a good 2 km away.
nizam with a miszou.
*note the bunch of skateboarders in the background. back then kj was a meeting point for everyone, skateboard, rollers and BMX. and there wasnt any beef with anyone.. easily some of the best days of my life.
the infamous shah alam grind rail...over 20ft of grinding madness.
