i just went to the site, and i feel sick. year after year i forget what it feels like when the x-games roll around, and every year i convince myself its gonna be good, but as the date fast approaches i get that same feeling... i can only describe it as a mix between betrayal, pity, and hope. I feel betrayed by the people in our little scene that skate specifically for the x-games, no one needs to be named, but im talking about the kids you dont see ever apart from at kampung batu and the x trails. I feel pity for all the kids that go out and week after week try to give rollerblading a good name, only to once a year have all their work destroyed by a few payed clowns who put on a show in a small wood and metal box. Lastly, i feel hope that maybe just maybe the winners dont sell their souls and throw the 'x' as they collect their medals, or through the horns after they do a 'full pull' down the rail. urgh... im angry... fuck the x games... the only thing its good for is bringing everyone together, and even then theres an ignorant x-games camera man sticking his lense into the group and asking them to scream 'x-games boleh', or some other brand of corporate propoganda. Remember when rollerblading was about sticking it to the man? pissing off security guards, destroying rails and ledges with dirty black marks, and being hard core underground. and now i see these 'athletes' putting on a show for an organisation that does nothing for them the whole year round. Cant someone get an Asian IMYTA series started or something?! hahaha... fuck im a wanker. and remember, these people are supporting YOU! Anyone who sticks it to the man like this, gets free pair of fluff 'n' tech sweat pants in the colour of their choice:

doesnt anyone else notice things like this?!: Renowned Malaysian cartoonist Mohd Nor Khalid, who is more widely known as Lat, is putting the sick tricks and gnarly spins of action sports on to paper for the upcoming Asian X Games VI presented by Toyota. The famous artist's witty work, which typically depicts the lighter side of life in Asia, now includes illustrations specially designed for posters announcing the Junior X Games and Asian X Games in Kuala Lumpur from February 16 to 22. Lat is one of the most-read and prolific cartoonists in Southeast - if not all of - Asia, and with the continued, widespread reprinting and translating of his cartoons, he is gaining worldwide fame. Already a movie, a musical play, an animation series, many commercials and all types of merchandise have sprung from his work.

History of the X-Games!
This is all taken from the site... i didnt make up any of it.
1995 From June 24 through July 1, the Extreme Games are held in Newport, Providence and Middletown, Rhode Island; and Mount Snow, Vermont. Athletes compete in 27 events in nine sport categories: Bungy Jumping, Eco-Challenge, In-line Skating, Skateboarding, Skysurfing, Sport Climbing, Street Luge, Biking and Water Sports.
1996 In January, the event name Extreme Games officially changes to the X Games. The primary reasons for the change are to allow easier translation to international audiences and better branding opportunities.
1999 From June 27 - July 4, X Games V in San Francisco attracts nearly 275,000 spectators. Those in attendance were treated to Tony Hawk's first-ever "skateboarding 900" and the X Games debut of Moto X.
ESPN announces that the X Games will now be held in August to allow for new marketing and programming opportunities.
2003 X Games IX makes its debut in Los Angeles on August 14-17 in its primary venue at STAPLES Center. Additional venues are in and around Los Angeles, including the Los Angeles Coliseum. Total attendance for the event is 187,141, including a one-day attendance record on Saturday (8/16) with 67,500. X Games Surfing also successfully debuts to a crowd of 25,500 in Huntington Beach and women's Skateboard Park and Vert are made official X Games competitions. The telecast aired on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC and featured a live Bike Stunt Vert competition on ABC. It also captured the sought-after 12-17 year-old demographic, which achieved record results. People aged 12-17 increased 10% from last year's telecast with an average of 162,621 viewers across all three networks.

it's such a subjective matter on this. as we grew up from what started (Asian X Games in KL), we see ourselves alot more self sufficient. With THIS VIDEO IS premiering the same week as the Asian X Games, it's our own project that has made rollerblading in Malaysia matured; well at least for me.
You see, I used to hate all this corporate sponsors trying to bank on us skaters. I felt used. They made airtime money out of us. They made corporates pay millions if not thousands in sponsorship only to exploit us. But the dirty fact is that we cant help it back then cause we had to depend on someone / corporation to have the big bucks to bring the sports into a more generic audience. More often than not, we are streotyped as vandals and a nuisance to the society. But with the Asian X here, rollerblading and all other aggressive sports has been given a spotlight. Skateshops and skateparks opened to encourage more kids to pick it up. Simply, it made it more accessible.
I'm not saying that George is wrong. Heck actually G is doing it the right way. Instead of them using us, we should be using them as a media to convey our message. Letting the public know that rollerblading does not end in a damn skatepark. That we should not pull an "X" if someone tells us to. To not turn yourself into a walking advertising board. You are not selling out by joining the Games but getting into the system and altering the perception by being a programme on your own.

hence our problem.
theres more to it than just plain ol "the spot must have a rail, ledge and gap"
need to worry bout things like security, back up spots, accesibility, traffic etc.

dont worry ladies, leave it down to me.
its called the 'Stunts for cash series' it creates its own grandprize, has access to over 50 different spots and will be ill.
im hoping to set it up for around the 6th month of this year. but thats just a vague guesstimate.
The top prize, im hoping will be something like RM250. not much, but its a start.
