i got a letter today from Blacksmith international. its a skateboard company la...they sponsor malaysia's only pro calvin long (its a big deal apparently.......  ) anyway. they have bought over sunway park from westwood. till today - 6th june - entry is free! their plan is to refurbish the park - thankfully! and rejigg the price - it will now b rm15...inclusive of drinks and helmet rental(they say its cheaper... but tell me - how is it cheaper? it was rm13 on weekends with the old management...and most of us have our own helmets and screw the fuckn drink - so u tell me - how is that cheaper? they more or less forcing u to get stuff u dont need) so anyway...price aside. lets hope they make it worth rm15 per entry . cus at that price im expecting skatelite surfaces, super cold air conditioning, naked women everywhere cleaning ramps and valets to wax curbs for ya. lets pray. |

yes at rm15 its a bloody ridicular price to pay..... heck at 13 back then, i hated going ther cause it burn a fucking hole in my pocket.
the bloody thing they should fix is on how to stop the rain from getting in.....
15 and it should be woodward quality....

yup. thats what i think too. rm15 is super expensive - even midvalley at its worse cant reach that price. be prepared for another skatepark to close down. sigh...hope it doesnt though.

what the hell are u talkin bout eric?
what i have heard bout (its even in KLue mag) the rm1 mil skatepark in putrajaya. gonna b built convict parks.....aussie skatepark building company. should b good . but we'll see....
the distance sure is a bitch to us KL and PJ ppl. but i guess we shouldnt complain - we take what we get - if its FREE - lagi la wont complain.

this is is footnote to all of us.... dont complain cause when it's gone, you'll start complaining that there are no skatepark to roll in....... appreciate what is thrown our way. make full use of it......

if a skate park costs 1 million too make, within three years their gonna need to make a profit of one million to make it cost effective.

well. my interpretation of the 1 million park is that its gonna b government run - aka ... free like kampung batu. and allowed to crumble like kampung batu too. sooo. its a win-lose thing. if we have to pay for it - at least (well. possibly) someone will be stationed there for ramp maintainence. but lets keep our fingers crossed.
blacksmith intl bought over Westwood.... together with their database of clients...u remember. then askin us where we live etc etc bfr enterin the park (westwood) for the first time.

well the thing is that never complain about a skateark no matter how bad it is...... if it suck and you hate it, dont go and skate there... simple as that... the choice is yours. you are the one paying...... it's your money....

well......that strategy didnt exactly work in Westwood's case did it?
all out boycott ever did was make it chap lap (true: we're not the only ones boycotting it). and now - the price has increased with new management.
but obviously. a shit park does not deserve support anyway.
