stockwell xsjado review by Farmer of rollernews.
"I just got my Xsjado Stockwells, and after the first couple of sessions I could already tell that alot of changes had been made since the DL pro model came out, which just proves the hype about it "being just another xsjado boot with different colors" wrong.
The stockwell has lots of improvements:
- Improved instep strap, more responsive, comftable and lighter. - Improved toestrap, it has a small rubber patch on it that prevents ripping. - Improved anklestraps, longer and stronger. - New footwrap, laces gives a much better feel, the shoes are also better padded = more comftable. - Better inside padding of the skate, that doesn't rip as easy.
Besides these changes, it should also be mentioned in favour of the people who has never ridden xsjados before, that they still have this unique feel to them, really responsive, really stiff but still more flexable than other hardboot skates out there - When you strap them on for the first time, you'll never skate anything else.
The souls haven't changed from the first Xsjados, they're still some of the fastest that I've tried, they slide on almost ever surface and lasts the average skater a long time, even if you do alot of cess slides. The Backslide plate is the same, perfectly alligned with the Xsjado frames groove, it is kind of deep which allows you to get real low on your H-block based tricks, and when you lock in on these, you're not going anywhere.
It seems that weight concerns a lot of kids these days, well. This is quite possibly one of the lightest boots available on the market (With xsjado frame), it's light weight combined with the perfect fit on your feet that Xsjados provide allows you to jump higher than ever.
The footwraps, they look good don't they? That was my first thought at least, finally a xsjado shoe that I can wear in public without getting laughed at, you gotta agree with me when I say that the look of the Latimer shoes was a complete joke, anyways enough about the look. The stockwell wraps features a lacing system, which not only makes them look good, but also gives them better comfort and a better fit on your feet, they're really snug and they still have the protective cap in the toe to prevent you from destroying your toes.
Overall these are the best skates I've tried so far, I'd say that they are not far from being perfect, they have everything a skate should have. Perfect BS plate, fast souls, good flex and support at the same time, good fit and last but not least a good look. Keep in mind this is comming from a guy that's tried over 30 skates all together, this including: Razors, USD Thrones, USD classic thrones, Roces, Deshi DK1, 2 and 3, Salomon and a wide array of liners, frames, wheels and soul-setups.
However, the xsjado skate has this "naked" feel to it, it makes your feet feel really exposed even though they're not, which makes you really uncomftable on gaps and big rails, that's what I went through with my first pair of Xsjados, I'm used to it now though. But still, even though Xsjados are the perfect skate for me, it's not a skate for everyone.
Oh, and by the way.. People who bitch about Xsjados taking too much time to put on, you have no idea what you're talking about, me and my freind took time on my getting my xsjados on, 13,48 seconds.. Which is way faster than he could put on his UFS thrones, so stop it.
