I know no one in Malaysia knows him, but he was such a sick skater and an awesome role model for all english rollerbladers. He was always smiling, always mad happy and constantly skating so hard doing crazy tricks. That attitude won him NASS two weeks ago.
This might not mean much to any of you, but i saw him two weeks ago and got the chance to meet him, if only for a brief moment.
This morning he died in hospital after being in a coma for several days. He died because his knee gave way whilst he was skating down a hill. He collapsed and flew head first into a lamp post, breaking both legs and fracturing his skull.
All i can take from this is that no one should take their own life for granted. Rich was so young, but as a professional skater and professional skiier he probably lived a richer life than most 80 year olds that waste their lives working in an office.
All of you have been blessed enough to be able to afford skates and have the opportunity to do something you love. Use this opportunity at every chance you get.
