nah i know theres good underground hip hop; like, mudfam, foreign beggars, skinny man. i know what good hip hop sounds like man, i grew up surrounded by my older brothers rap obbsession, KRSONE's 'last boy scout' LP was my fucking audio bible. but rap these days is SHIT. Its talentless, its get rich quick, its image driven, and the underground scene is aspiring to sell out.
what i mean is, i hear alot of new 'underground' hip hop and its either:
*shit lyrics, where the emcee lies about what a bad life hes had over the top of fruity loops beats.
or
*arty nonsense lyrics that dont make sense with jazz-tastic backing music.
this is jsut me personally, but the only good underground hip hop ive heard to come out of malaysia is the DJ's. Goldfish and Farz are sick. Those dudes are fucking talented.
the only malay emcee's ive heard, despite listening to a few of your tracks, was peice of shit lyrics with an american accent.
why the american accent?
theres too many fucking 'basketball shoot out/b-boy break off/ghetto-heaven/du rag/hiphopgurl' bullshit that dilutes the malaysian underground scene to the point where theres no substance. jsut posers.
like this one time there was all these b-boys in KLCC, like a thousand, all dressed in ridiculous baggy clothing with there hip hop chicks and their pimpin dunks.and they started having a fucking breakoff in the middle of klcc park!
too many posers man.
someone show me a good, south east asian underground rapper with an original south east asian style and i'll buy all his albums. The thing is, it will never happen, people are ashamed of who they are.

in translation:
listen to what are candies to your ears. live your life the way you want to lead it. lets not forget your roots. lets not forget what you are made of. yes i am a chinese who is heavily influenced by foreign culture with the advancement of technology and facilities. heck there's even a term for these kind of people and you call them 'bananas'; yellow on the outside white on the inside.
the world is such a small place these day and all it takes is less than 24 hours to get you across the world. social intergation has enriched us in many ways. the boundless world has made us less narrow minded.
all in all, lets not forget our roots. hold it tight my friends.

ah right , george .
i gotta agree with your comment .
but then why hip hop ? i meant , you do get local rock and indie acts that actually sing with american/english slang . and i dont hear people talking about it . but when it comes to hip hop , u get it from every diff angles.
no offend , so what kind of malaysian produced music do you actually listens to ? that actually promotes the south east asian style ? well , dangdut ? irama malaysia ? im not trying to offend anyone , its just that i need to get some clear answers .
"theres too many fucking 'basketball shoot out/b-boy break off/ghetto-heaven/du rag/hiphopgurl' bullshit that dilutes the malaysian underground scene to the point where theres no substance. jsut posers."
that is an unfair statement i must say . to acknowledge these people as malaysian underground hip hop scene is just wrong . they might be just another hip hop fan . malaysian underground hip hop scene , is a collective of emcees that actually make tracks together . and the scene is not big at all . and most of us know one another . so i think that judgement of urs george , is definitely bias .
againd , id like to get the message clear . im not trying to offend anyone , including you george . its just my thoughts . let us all drops our thoughts without being prejudice to anyone or any music genre . i meant , its all for the good of our nation .
just my thoughts .
take care and be safe .

i mean some ppl like cars, some ppl like bikes and some like them both.
there is nothing wrong being a follower.
well, i'm down with chinese, japanese, korean and the m*therf*cking black and white hip-hop. so wat does this make me man?
hip-hop culture originated from the west.... so it's hard to really come out with something new or incorperating local culture into the hip-hop music.
anyway, i must admit, i'm sick of all this gangsta shit and f*cking pimp juice buLLshit...
undergroup hip-hop? nah... this rap game has gone too "sell out"
