Me and Papan are just debating so don't worry and no harm.
I have known this for a long time already and I knew this is coming.
ESPN weren't even aware of X-Games existense until Papan gave them to the staffs of ESPN as souvenirs (Damn you spoiler).
Rightly said X-Games is indeed a mark owned by ESPN and these people are huge being owned by the very people who owned Disney.
If ESPN close one eye then all should be well.
However from what they sounded to Maris I think they mean business.
So unless they take actions then the mag will indeed have to change its name OR if the boss is stubborn then this dispute will end up in a Malaysian court.
If ESPN win then Papan's boss will have to stop the X-Games namesack and pay damages (IF ESPN wanted to inflict harm).
If Papan's boss win they can keep the X-Games namesack and ask for some damages (For all the inconveniences caused).
It will probably be a battle like David and the Gorlileith.
But in actual fact this only a small matter which I am sure all of us can understand and support if indeed a name change is necessary due to the above situations.
It all boils down to what the boss want.
If X-Games feel sentimental about its name then they can always use same sounding name like EX-GAMES or something similar.
ESPN is only concern with the word "X" as in X-Games.
Or the boss might just throw a contest and then many of us will then throw in names as fantastic as ROTI-HARI from Harry or ROJAKS from some else.
So Papan if you ever need our help just sound straight no need to bit around the bush.
I can tell you this in Kjrollers all of us are humans so nobody is perfect we all learn from our mistakes.
Make changes if neccessary some changes will be for the better so be it.

Well i have to give them the mag coz they asked for it and then i've promised them as wells..coz i've told them that i really need some pic from ESPN for the mag... that was 2 months before Thai X games...so to ensure that the mag that i'm woking with is exist.. they get their copies
Mariss told me that Katie Mosses of ESPN Event asked his opinion and what he knew about the mag. And yes Katie did mentioned that they can sue us for these but there is always a way to solved...But well, there's nothing much contraversy..they just a bit shocked.. that's all....
Yeah that's what i'm afraid off...if my boss refuse to change then ..he will get trouble..but i've already told him regading this issue a day after all our heroes get back from Korea. One of our contributor told me about this matter. I didn't know Mariss also knew about it till i've found out receive a private message in Climax forum last 2 days...yet i've made call to Haizan 3X yesterday and he also knew about it and he said Mariss told them... Kecoh la plak...
i've send a fast e-mail to ESPN the day i've got these info from our contributor..and yes i've told them that we are willing to cooperate in any way... There's one thing, if we got no choice then we have to change the name but not that fast..perhaps a 5 issue promotion with the new name of the mag on the first page...kinda of announcement...2ndly, distribute flyers in all extreme sports events.... changing the name process?well i don't know how KDN works on these matters and i'm not sure if they can approve it....if they request us to submit another application then it will take along time for them to approved... government..biasala...sometimes they took bout 3 -5 months to get your application approved..damn..i'll be jobless then....so i'm really need ESPN strong letter to KDN so that we have an excuse to change the name...
Another thing in my mine is, we might also just continue using the old name. Coz from the source i've got from a friend. He told me about the same situation on these one local company who used to called Microsoft Sdn Bhd.. Heard it before? Microsoft is Bill Gates trademark right? But he can even sue them... Bill Gates intends to have his office in Putrajaya with the same name and he paid them (offcourse millions or maybe 100K) so he can used Microsoft Sdn Bhd name.
I'm not sure if we were in the same situation. All i know now is KDN also involved in this matters as they are the one who approved the mag to proceed.... again, that's why i need ESPN letter very much... well that's all..
