ive had xsjados for 3 years....and ive almost never injured my toes.
best thing you can do is go to the shop (cool element / skateline) try on what they have there and make your mind up yourself. all skates nowadays are pretty much the same - just different designs and features - but in terms of performance - they are all pretty much on par.
if you can - go hang out with skaters and ask if you could borrow their skates - just to get a feel. most would be glad to let you try - so long as you ask nicely.
as a rule of thumb - i think the Razors Genesys are good skates for people with wide feet
