  also, the only 800 pairs being released is BULLSHIT. i talked to some retailers and it's a little business strategy called 'artifically stimulated demand'. basically, they artifically restrict supplies and say "oh we can't keep up to demand" or "the process of building these skates is complex, it takes time" or some crap like that. people can't get them, and this builds hype and fervor...and leads to even more demand. basically - if you tell someone they can't have it, this just fuels them even further. i studied this while in college, it's used a lot with products like this. we did a case study on the Nintendo 64...how nintendo said they were out of stock just a few weeks after launch but just before christmas...oh what do you know, they magically come across a million units just sitting in a warehouse...hum....
there will be much, much more than 800 pairs ready to go, but they will be held back until A) demand reaches fever pitch, or B) before the shopping season reaches it's peak (i.e. late november)....so don't be surprised if more stock just arrives out of nowhere...even if the official stance is something like "we won't have any more stock until next year" |
