latest info from the Pa'din- they guy who gets all the AXG news first!!! www.sk8climax.comSunway to be host for AXG06
To tell you the truth I'm kinda shocked when they told me about where is the new venue for this year AXG. This year The Sunway Lagoon Waterpark will be the official venue for the AXG 2006. Damn right, bro. Inside the Sunway Lagoon. Who care how much ESPN or Sunway will invest to make this happen but we will have the event on the "beach". Damn... Don't worry about the RM28.00 admission fees as the ESPN will distribute the FREE tickets to all the spectators. Also, this year the park will be more street and less park combination. So, to all the people who planning to come to AXG 2006 this year then, don't forget to bring your swimsuit. Say hi to this year "More Tetek AXG 2006".NO BMX in AXG06 What can i say. This is what i heard from the organizer itself. They not planning to have the BMX event this year at the AXG 2006. No vert, flatland or park. This mean no Mat Dagu, Botak, Koji Kraft, York Uno, anyone. Sorry to all the local BMX riders throughout Malaysia. Kayuh BMX i think this is the time when you should ask you frontman to find out what going on and try to bring back the BMX event. If you still want the BMX event in AXG 2006 lah... If not then what can i say. Anyway, Make you move now. pics and words courtesy of Pa'din at www.sk8climax.com

no you cant skate the course. in the pass - they used to have a little street course for visitors to jam on. but not sure if they'll do that this time.
oh - and latest news update! as discussed earlier - the competition will be 'street' based. NOT PARK. that might mean ledges rails etc.
no idea how they going to execute this - but we'll find out!

to Bro. Nik and all... AXG 2006 confirm KL... i've got an invitation from one of ESPN PR here:
Press conference will be held in Sunway Hotel on the 14th March....(invitation media and press only)
The 2006 Asian X Games presented by KIA returns to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on May 12-14 at Sunway Lagoon.
This is the only competition in the region featuring elite skateboarders, Moto X riders, aggressive inliners and sport climbers from across the world and serves as a qualifier to the pinnacle of action sports, the X Games in the USA.
Malaysia is no stranger to the Asian X games, having played host to the event from 2002 to 2004. This year's event promises to be even more exiting as it celebrates its move to a new venue and introduces new categories of competition. The 2006 Asian X Games is presented by KIA and organized by ESPN STAR Sports.
Yeah i was expecting the street course sumthing like when Pa'Din competes in US..

rumours flying left right centre!
the AXG qualifying competition might be held at the Taiping or Kuantan KBS ramps. lodging would most probably be provided for competitors at the inhouse KBS dorms/sports centre.
the rationale is - the KBS wants to promote the skateparks in the other states, and frankly everyone is sick of Kg Batu.
its scheduled for the 2nd weekend of April (7-8 April) <--- to be confirmed!!
personally - i think its a great excuse to go out of town for a holiday/skate road trip.
